Overview

Led UX research and product design for Bare Skin, a concept DTC skincare experience designed to reduce decision fatigue and build trust in product selection.

Goal

Understand how users navigate skincare product experiences and identify where confusion and lack of guidance disrupt decision-making.

Method
Conducted qualitative usability testing with 8 users, alongside behavioral analysis of product selection and routine-building flows to identify friction points.

Key Insight

8 out of 10 users hesitated or dropped off due to unclear product benefits, ingredient confusion, and lack of routine guidance.

Design Decision

Prioritized a clarity-first system by simplifying routines, improving product and ingredient transparency, and introducing guided flows to support confident decision-making.

Impact (Expected)

Increased purchase confidence, reduced decision fatigue, and improved engagement by enabling clearer, guided skincare decisions.
