Led UX research for The Crown, a memoir designed to help readers process emotionally heavy content without cognitive overload.

Goal
Understand how readers engage with dense narratives and where they feel overwhelmed.

Method

  • Tested with 4 beta readers using guided reflection questions

Key Insight

  • 3/4 readers experienced fatigue when heavy content lacked pauses

Design Response

  • Introduced a 3-act structure
  • Added reflection prompts and section breaks
